How to..

How do you clean your stamps? I use both StazOn and Stamp Craft cleaner, but only have one cleaning pad which is the Stamp Scrubber Cleaning Pad. My pad is almost black and I doubt it is totally cleaning my stamps throughly anymore. The StazOn also leaves an oily surface on everything. Should I have two pads? One for each type of cleaner? Also, can I remove the pad and clean it with soap and water or just throw it away and replace it. I have not had this one that long and I did throw my other brand out when it started shedding and bits of the foam started coming off in little messy pieces. Just not sure what to do. Thanks ladies!

If you are using water based ink, which most is, the only thing you need to clean your stamps with is plain water... the cleaners are fine, but not really necessary at all. I keep a spray bottle at my work table. A spritz of water and scrub off on the cleaning pad... let dry and put away.

For Stazon and embossing inks, use warm, soapy water.... no need to goo up you cleaning pad with icky oily residue...

First you can clean your scrubbie pad...run it through the dishwasher top rack no dry cycle...Or you can use a bit of dishwasher soap in the sink and let it soak...

Wipe your excess inks off on a baby wipe and try to find Ulta Clean...it will take everything off, including Stazon and it gentle enough to use on your clear stamps...

Also, I don't buy expensive stamp scrubbers, I use paint pads from Wal-Mart, a small mushroom brush and that's it!

I use the cleaner that countryrose(I think) put on here, made of simple green, glycerin, and distilled water, in a spray bottle and a soft baby tooth brush. Most everything comes clean, but some stamps are going to stain, I've learned.

I've been using the same stamp pad cleaner for years. I don't use the staz on w/it though for the same reason you described, plus it did not work.
Mine is black but a little spritz and a scrub and my stamp is clean.

I try and stamp off as much of the ink as possible before putting it on my cleaner pad.
