Hi Shannon!Awwwwwww, Thanks so much for thinking of me...

My DD Sarah was in a car accident last weds. eve & my Sis went in the hospital Thurs. morn w/ congestive heart failure. On top of it all I had brochitis.

    But things are settling down...

DD Sarah is healing, though she has to go have her L eye checked today by a specialist. Her face, neck and chest took a beating from the airbag-but she's looking better everyday and we're told there will probably not be any scarring. We are just so thankful that she and her BF are alive and the injuries are all things that will heal w/ time & patience!-the car is totaled-

A 16 yo. who just got her license ran a stop sign/flashing red and came out in front of them. Why people let their newly licensed kids loose like that I'll never know!

I brought Sis home from the hospital yesterday, she's feeling much better but her heart is not what it should be, she's on oxygen all the time now... praying daily for her & helping when I can is all I can do.

Again, thanks Shannon for thinking of me. I'll be getting back on the boards little by little- once I catch up with all of the housework & errands that have accumulated the past week!
    hugs, Christi

Man oh man. So sorry to hear all of these things, Java. Like I said before, so glad for bf's defensive driving or things could have been worse, right? YIKES. I wish I could run your errands and help you catch up some myself. Take care of you.

    xoxo, Laura

I too have been wondering where you were Christi. I figured you were working, knowing that you sometimes work those odd shifts that keep you away from the board for a few days.

I am sorry to hear that the reason you were not around is because of all the heartaches. You all will be in my prayers for health and getting life back on track. Take care and take your time Christi!!

    Thanks Laura, Karen & Shannon!

LOL- I see I didn't finish my sentence about the car being totaled (that's the kind of gibberish you get from me when I post after working the night shift LOL!!)

-but you said it Shannon- the car can be replaced!!- DD Sarah & her BF Randy (we love him too) are precious, all that matters is they are ok!

She was crying today, she had a 4.0 and 1 teacher dropped her grade to a B for missing 2 classes & 1 quiz, even though she has a medical excuse out for 5 days-teacher said no exceptions "you're either here or you're not".

-and I told her that 1: a B's not so bad! and 2: this too shall pass, in a month or 2 you'll look back on all this and think that wasn't so bad really...just one of those passages you have to get through, and you'll be a stronger person when you come out the other side.

Glad to hear everyone is doing good. Get back to us when you can, take it easy and take a few minutes for yourself...dont forget you

About your daughters teacher what an A**, give me his number I'll make sure he understands and gives her a chance to make up the work. That is crazy, never heard of a teacher pulling crap like that and my job was to hear about profs. and students complains....tell your daughter I am sorry.

    Awwwwwwwwww, Janice thanks!

All of her other instructors were understanding and more than accomodating- but as Momma always said "there's one in every bunch!"

SHe called this particular teach 3 times and left messages, even emails and it took 3 days to get a reply which was basically-Thanks for being so diligent in getting a message to me, but oh well, you were'nt in class so too bad!

I said talk to her face to scarred, bruised face and maye she will soften a little...it couldn't hurt to try right?

She feels awful becasue she has been on President's list, and will now be on Dean's (still a good thing my little over achiever!! )

Anyway, she already got accepted to Syracuse Univ. for Fall-so I said don't sweat it-but in my heart I know I was the same way at her age & it would have really upset me back in the day too!

You know what if the teacher does not help her. I would hgo to the dean of the school, and plead the case there is no reason that they have to act that way to her. My students when we could not get something done was the last resort. But for the teacher not getting back to her, well she has proof that she tried to get a hold of them. I would fight it I know she is going through a lot right now but She will be happer and less stressed if she does. kids work so hard for their grades for somthing like this to be able to take it away is crazy.

Sorry I will get off my soap box now!!!
