Here is my first Christmas card for this year. I used the trellis file that I bought from Martha Jackson and I designed the poinsettia flower on my Wishblade software. I used my bone folder to score the lines on the holly leaves, folded them up a little on the score lines to give them dimension, inked the edges with a gold pigment petal pad. The inside of the trellis is backed with white and I sandwiched yellow/orange mulberry in between, used Stickles in the center of the flowers and red glitter embossing powder on the word stamp. For the colors of my card I used my color wheel and used a rectangular tetrad combination and then used the yellow/orange to get a split complement, but only used one color on the split, for the card base. Before I send them out at Christmas I will probably put some pop dots under some of the petals to keep them from getting too flat in the mail.

The color is coming out a bit dark, the base of the card is more of a periwinkle.

The inside card color is more accurate of the base color.

LOL! I am going to have to change the inside of my card! I did a typo on the word Holiday!

    Thanks so much!

    Now to answer questions:
Lol! We are doing Christmas in December, I just wanted to get a head start so I have them all done and not have to worry about getting my Christmas cards together when the time comes. Plus, I've had the poinsettia idea running around in my head since I did that first Pearl Ex'd flower card.

For the petals on the poinsettias I used a darker red cardstock for the bottom petals and a slightly brighter red for the top petals. The centers are the same green cardstock as the holly leaves.
