Every Year I purchase a ornament for a kid in our family. All of the children belong to a female member of my family and each new child born I ask around christmas..What do you want for ornments..I have never heard a I don't know. Well the only boy in my family just got married 3 years ago had a baby (a boy). At thanksgiving I asked what ornament do you want for Tyler. She says...I don't know. I said do you have a tree is there any ornaments you have you want to match??? I think she is shy...I asked my Aunt her mother-in-law the other day and she said the tree has red and green christmas balls and decor on it really simple...

Well I bought a Old World Green Dinosaur Oraniment very pretty......Good idea? should I say something to her like if you want to do something diffrent next year let me know??? I love these polish type of ornaments I buy them for all of the other kids and they are so great. What do yall think..

After debating in my head if I should answer LOL
I think it would be just fine. You knwo if someone asked me I would not have an answer either. I would say I don't know or nothing at all.

It is a gift. I would take it in the spirit intended and be so pleased and grateful. I am sure your recipient will be too.

I change my ornaments every year but have a few special gift ornaments that go on matching or not!

Well I guess next year she might know then My MIL buys the wooden or sometimes ceramic ornaments to paint for all the grandkids. She just finds something she likes.

I don't decorate much for Christmas (well not at all) since we go to my parents. Mom sometimes has done theme trees but I told her when she had my Night Before Christmas Ornament she had to put that on it There were some others that went on weither they were red white and blue or mardi gras or not

I'm guessing she decorates her tree simply because she doesn't have a collection of special ornaments. I'm guessing she will love a special ornament. Maybe it'll be the start of her collection. Is this her son's first Christmas?

I love special ornaments. My Christmas verse talks about how special each one is and the memories that go with it. I started when my son was a baby buying Christmas ornaments for him. Each year I buy a set of 6 or more and put them away for him when he goes off on his own. Just a thought.

I've made ornaments for about 25 for over 40 years, starting with my DD's first Christmas. So, I also look at it as a gift and what you get them should be OK.

I agree with Lulu, she may not have a lot of ornaments or decorations. I know our first Christmas tree was awful bare compared to what we do now. As far as your ornament, it is a gift and I also agree with Gail about writing a sweet note to go along with it. I receive ornaments every year from my students and I love each and every one of them, but of course there is no theme to my decorating.

Thanks guys...I am over thinking it I am sure. I just bought a cute ornament and spent about $15.00 for it. $15 is alot of money for a SAHM.
