I found this online and throught I would post it.

    Printing on Ribbon
    Ingredients:

    1. Printer
    2. Ribbon
    3. Double Sided Tape
    4. Computer with Word, Works, etc.

    What to do:

    1. Type whatever text you would like on your ribbon into your word editing program.
    2. Print
    3. Adhere double-sided tape on top of the words you just printed
    4. Put your ribbon on top of the tape.
    5. Insert your paper with the ribbon on it into your printer.
    6. Print

There you go, you just now printed your own things on ribbon.

I suggest to use gross grain ribbon as it works the best.

I've also used a stamp to stamp on twill ribbon. Worked very well.

I've tried this with no success. Either my paper jams the printer while the ribbon is on it or it doesn't print in quite the same place and the printing is off center on the ribbon. I give up with this one.

Hmm, I wonder what the problem is Karen. When I do this, it comes out great. Are you sure you are putting a lot of double sided tape or regular tape? I don't use double sided tape (under the ribbon which is placed on the paper, over the words you want to print), I just use regular tape (one sided?) to put over parts of the ribbon. It doesn't create paper jams, and comes out very nicely. Don't give up Nothing comes out great the first time-just try, try again hehe. My words that were printed on the ribbon were off center, too a couple of times, so I tried again and again and not I have no problems at all.

Let me know if it works, or maybe you won't try it (since you said you gave up

    *hugs*

Monika - I'm not sure I get what you do...so you tape the ribbon down to the paper on the edges that won't be printed on rather than put the double sided tape under the ribbon?

Cindy - great idea on using a stamp, I never thought of that. I'm def. going to try and remember to try that out.

Yes, that's exactly what I do. I only tried that 3 times (haven't printed anything on ribbon since then) and it worked perfectly. Here is a LO I made with a yellow ribbon that has printed these words on it.

I've wanted to do this for quite some time. But I told my DH, the computer guy, about it and he said NO! I'm not an expert with computers (anymore) and the idea of jamming up my printer didn't really excite me so I've just stamped on mine and they look great.

    Baseball mom...
had to lol, because I am the computer 'guy' in our family, and my reaction is pretty much like his. The ribbon looks really nice, but I'm not jamming my printer to see if it works.
