With all these posts about the "Good old days"...TV slogans, cartoons, and such. I was wondering.....

What was the first TV show you can remember and what was the first TV or radio commercial that you can recall?

The first TV show that I remember was Wanda Wanda ( Romper Room) in the early 1950's. And the first commercial that I remember was the one with the man calling out, "All call for Phillip M--ooooo--rrrrrrr--is!", which was a cigarette product. And the first TV commercial that I remember was the little cartoon figure saying, "I've got sixty seconds to sing!" which, if I recall correctly, was a jingle for cottage cheese. Correct me if I am wrong on that one!

I remember watching Days with my mommy everyday after Kindergarten. I came home and had my lunch while she watched it. I also remember getting up on Saturday mornings to watch Wonder Woman!

I remember watching with My mother I think it was as the world turns when it was fifteen minutes. The names I recall were Lisa, Penny, Bob. I also remember hearing the Maverick tune and also the Pallendin tune. they were catchy tunes. I remeber Ed Sullivan with all his guests and funny face. I can also remeber watching My Little Margie and a show called People's choice that had a talkin dog, a Bassent hound I think.I could go on all Day. Here's another Dark shadows.

I remember Gunsmoke, Rawhide, Wanted Dead or Alive, Bonanza, Wagon Train, My little Margie, The Hit Parade, Lone Ranger, Hopalong Cassidy, Route 66, Dragnet, Car 54 Where are You, Ozzie and Harriet, Leave It to Beaver, Father Knows best, Masterpiece Theatre, The Twilight Zone, and I could go on. But I'll leave some for others to remember.

Yeh, but, which one (just one), of each category, do you remember: TV commercial, TV program, and radio commercial?

I was wondering which were first memories for you all...

I think my TV show one was Roy Rogers. My sister and I rode our bikes many, many miles playing Roy and Dale. I always had to ride Buttermilk while she rode Trigger.

My mom's favorite was The Fugitive. My mom is 80 years old now and still can't sit down and be still very long at a time - has to be up doing something, but this was one program that she was very upset if we missed an episode.

We used to watch that all the time. As simple as they now seem to be, all these shows were great when we were young! Innocence has a special quality that once lost is never to be had again!... Thus we enjoy the memories!
