I'm looking into some possibilities for a birthday party for DD for her 7th birthday in June.
One place I found is a homemade icecream creamery. It's on a farm. They have a nice eat in facility that you can rent for the party. My questions is aside from getting icecream sundaes what activities could I have there w/o lugging too much stuff. I already would have to bring all paper goods and additional food and cake. They have an outdoor area to use if the weather is nice, too. Thanks.

Maybe you could take some small outside toys: jumprope, bubbles, frisbee, horse shoes, a ball. That way they have a variety of things to do.

Thanks. Those are great ideas. I'll have to see if they have a place to hang a pinata.

Well, we changed the entire theme. She wants a High School Musical Party at home. So we're doing Karaokee and a game where you pick a quote and try and guess which character said it. But I need more ideas. This is a difficult theme I think. Are those two activities enough along with the pinata I ordered?
    Any ideas will be appreciated.

Play the movie on the TV in one room, and have the soundtrack going in the other room. Get some of those cheap-o microphones from the dollar store as party favors.

You could make a word search with the characters names & events that happened in the movie.

Remember there is cake and icecream to eat and presents to open, so 1 or 2 activities shoul be enough. Kids seem to get bored after about 2 to 3 hours, even if it is a party. You could see if you can find a kid's movie trivia game on the internet and play for prizes. Will it be during daytime hours, or evening hours? That will help determine the activities.

Maybe you could print awards for best song, best performance and so on. Make sure to have an award for all the kids though. My daughter will be 7 this summer too, not sure what she wants yet. Last year we did a Littlest Pet Shop party. And for years of experience of doing big parties, 3 hours is the longest the whole party should last or they will get bored and you will be ready for them to go home by then too! Have fun!
