I have a DR. appt for tomorrow but I am concerned. My temp is 102 and is raising! The chills are about to do me in. I have pj's, housecoat, and a heavy insulated winter coat on just to stay a little bit warm! My throat is sore and I have the typical body aches and headache.

I know that this may sound elementary but, it has been years and years since I have been so sick. At what point do I just waddle into the hospital.? Am I good to wait until the am? Hubby is gone for the night, until late. So, I feel like a lost little kid!... Whaaaaaa! Sorry, I feel like I am losing control of my emotions... And like a true scrap-a-holic, I am hiding in my scrap room working on layouts to take my mind off this crud!!

Judy - I'm not a nurse, but I believe if the temp goes up any more I would take myself to the emergency room. When you feel that bad, it will be a long night to suffer. Hope you feel better soon.

My pediatrician says to come in if the temp is over 104.1, but if I thought I needed to come then go ahead and go to the ER. My son was really sick a year ago and I freaked out and had no clue what to do once his temp went that high (104). THe 24 nurse hotline said try a lukewarm bath. It broke the fever and didn't come back. Ended up being Roseolla so nothing too serious.

Have you taken any tylenol or advil to bring the fever down? That is a temporary fix but it should work if you can take them.

I am not a nurse but I am a mom! I hope you feel better soon too!!

Judy, This Dr. Mom feels you have probably come under the spell of the flu. I second the Asprin, Tylenol, and pour the liquids. You probably should be in bed. Now if that temp climbs much higher, get to the Dr. ( a real one) I hope you're feeling better soon.

I can tell you what our Dr. told us to do when I had a fever of 103.4. My DH called him in the middle of the night (our Dr. is really a great Dr. ). He told DH to give me Ibuprofen. Take two and then one every six hours. It did the trick- brought my fever down from the first two.

Well, I dragged myself off the couch to check in. My temp is 103 with asprin. I am counting the minutes of when I can go to my Dr. appt. I just wish there was someone who can drive me...but, alas, there is no one. So, I will take this aching body and drive myself. I thought that I might have a bona fide case of the flu, but I am now thinking it is strep throat. We will see....

Oh Judy, Judy. I hope when you come back from the dr. that he has done something to help you feel better. I had strep one time & my throat has never hurt that bad before or since. I do hope that you go straight to bed & don't even read this until you're feeling much, much better.
