Here's a link to some flower patterns and butterfly patterns that I thought would be cute on a card or page...

Crochet is pretty easy. Well, I think it's easier than knitting. It's so easy to drop stitches when knitting and really hard to go back and fix things. I think I may try to make some of the flowers, but I don't have too many yarn/thread choices to experiment with. I wonder if you can use DMC floss for some of the small flowers.

Thanks for the great site. I agree with you about knitting versus crocheting. You can do lots of different patterns with crochet.

I'm sure you could use the floss for crochet. I made a tag using a crochet border using very thin yarn. Maybe I'll get around to posting it soon.

You can use anything that is pliable enough to crochet with. Even a very fine wire can be crocheted with. You can use embroidery floss or put together multiple strands of regular sewing thread for a multi-colored effect! Have fun experimenting!

Lulu - I'd love to see the tag if you would post it.
Thanks, Judy, I think I will try putting a few strands of floss together and see what I come up with.

    Cass thank you for sharing.
I make a butterfly that is different. It is a butterfly magnet but I am going to try to do a card with it. I would not add the magnet and you can puff the wings out.
If you like I will post the pattern. It is really easy. I make it with varigated thread.

Hi. My name is Ginny and I am from Kansas. I retired a year ago and now have time to spend on some hobbies and just doing things I enjoy. I just found this discussion group. How nice to find one that discusses crochet - so many just concentrate on knitting (which is nice too). If you would like to post the directions for the butterfly, I would enjoy seeing it. Also, the picture of the tag. Thank you.
