This is just something that lays over your photo on the LO or something that you use to cut the mosaic? Could you just make one in word and print it on a transparancy?

this is somethe that lays over the picture so you don't have to cut it. I never thought about using word but if i can't find one I'll give it a try

You could cut your pic into 1" squares and mount it on black paper. If there are people in the pic, try to make the cut not on their face. If it's a really precious pic, make a copy, or experiment with another.

I remember those. I believe they were made by DieCuts With A View but I haven't seen them in a while either. The last time I saw them was on one of the shopping channels.
I've seen the photos cut into small squares as mentioned above using the color cutter pens that write and cut at the same time. The look is very effective for a mosaic because it gives a small border around each 'tile' you cut.

I would love to have that diecut. I made some mother's day cards by stamping an image and then cutting the tiles myself with my trimmer. It wasn't as bad as I thought but I would have liked that diecut. I posted it on the LO board.

I also saw it on DIY -SB show a long while back. Have you tried your LSS. I don't have one.

Michelle Gebrandt (sp?) did a segment on this a while back on the Carol Duvall show. Check out the HGTV site under Carol.
