Any ideas on how to distress black cardstock? It's just tooooooo black for the layout.

have you tried either crumbling (roll it up in a ball and then unroll it) , or use sandpaper?

Tried sandpaper & ink, nothing. Didn't think of bleach and crumpling. Will give that a shot on some scraps and see what it does.
    Thanks

Anyone got a plan C? Bleach on black pants - instant color removal, bleach on black cardstock - not so much (very little actually).

If the cardstock is black all the way through to the opposite side, it won't bleach. I'd use a white stamp pad to distress it.

If I were distressing black, I would wad up the black paper and them unwad it, and take a piece of sandpaper to it, roughing up the raised edges.
Then I would take a white, ecru, or metallic chalk and chalk it. This will highlight the distressed paper.

Carol, are you wanting to distress or just tone down the whole sheet of black paper? Using a piece of vellum over the black would tone it down.

I'm thinking some brown or gray ink brushed across the whole sheet and esp the edges.
    Let us know what works!
