OK guys. Do all of you have a hard time finding sentiments for cards as much as I do? Sometimes I spend 2 hours trying to find a sentiment and by that time, I'm too tired to do the card! So, I have a suggestion. Since we are so lucky to have this forum now, why don't whenever we post a card, we include the sentiment so everyone can get ideas? Just post your card and then tell us what's on the inside. Sound good?

Sounds good to me. I will spend time looking through various sites and pick out ones I like, then copy & paste in a word doc by category and save them. Then when I need one I don't have to spend as much time looking.

That's a good idea. I'm terrible with the sentiments. I usually just stamp "Happy Birthday" or "Thank You" or whatever on the inside. I'd love to see what everyone else does.

I save all of my old Current catalogs and refer to them when I need a sentiment. I try to put their ideas in my own words.

Now, here is something I didn't think I would ever admit to doing lol. When I have the time I browse the card section of a store, and jot down sentiments in my notebook. I've even been known to draw a quick sketch of a premade card I like. I've never been approached and asked what I'm doing but I probably should come up with some creative reply if I ever am.

    Lori, since you confessed...here goes:

Last summer DD Rach & I were shopping and saw a very cute baby poem (short little poem).

Since she's a youngster I told her to memorize it - what does she do?? Whips out her phone and takes a picture of it!!

    Kids today!

LOL well that they might ask what you're doing Probably safer to jot and tell them you're writing down the card and who you might need to give it too and you're going to check when thier B-day, anny or whatever is

I confess I take pictures of cards I really like. I write a lot of my own verses but I rely heavily on The Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Card and the Ultimate " " " " Word from Blue Mountain Press. We have vendors that come to the school and put books in the lounge for teachers to order/buy. I think I paid $11.00 for both books. I use them for inspiration or take a couple of verses and meld them together to make just the right verse for a card.

I like the idea of including the verse in the cards. I type all my verses into the computer and them save them according to the occasion. Then I can paste them onto an open document and print. I bet I have almost a hundred verses that I use. I rarely copy a verse word for word because that is against the law. I also use verses from vintage cards.

Like Gail, now that I am making cards, I'm writing my own sentiments. Some of them are verse, others are just a phrase or two. Unless it is put out there for us to copy, we can't. It's plagerism. So we need to be cautious.
