I need some tips on heat embossing please. I have some UTEE. Part of my image looks.... not cracked, but not completely covered either. I read on the container that you can do two coats to make a smoother finish. How exactly do you go about putting the second coat on? I tried to put a second coat on thinking maybe it would stick since I had JUST heated it, but it didn't. Thanks!

Cindy, I had problems with embossing, my stuff. I thought you could put extra stuff on it while it was hot, but it didn't work for me either.

I hope you get answers for both of us.

When you heat your image the first time - immediately add embossing powder to it again and the powder will stick.. (that worked for me)

I've added a second coat while it was hot and that seemed to work. I've also done it later with more of the embossing boss gloss stuff and then the embossing powder and that worked, too.

BTW - like the new avatar!

Thanks . That was my birthday last year. Ok, back to the embossing, lol. So when you put more ink on it, you have to just reink your stamp and hope you get it in the exact same spot?

Cindy - When I said I re-inked I was embossing a chipboard piece so I didn't have to worry about getting anything on backround paper. I guess that won't help you then.
Judith - I use something called "Boss Gloss" ( I think that's the name) It comes in a cylinder shaped plastic bottle and has a sponge type applicator on the top. I can put it on stamps that way or cover a die cut easily for embossing.
