Taffy are the SU ink pads dye ink pads? If that is the case that is your problem, I have found that to get a really crisp image I have to use pigment ink pads with them. You can also use permanent ink with them (stayz-on) but the pigment pads are less expensive and don't stain like the permanent (solvent based) ink does. When I have stamped with dye ink I would best describe the image as looking watercolored or pastel? I think it is because dye ink is thin and the acrylic stamps are slick so it just doesn't hold on to enough ink. My theory also explains why pigment ink works, it is a thicker ink, if you have ever stuck you finger on a pigment ink pad it is a sticky ink, it's why it holds embossing powders btw the cat eyes are pigment ink, cheap way to get big color variety.

Lori is absolutely right, lol. The water based ink pads sorta, um, bubble up on the image instead of covering it. It will also help if you use a pencil eraser on your stamp.

My HL has Cat's Eye too so they probably all have them.
Thanks, Cindy, for the idea about using pencil erasers on the acrylic ones. I'll give that a try.

Look on eBay for Cat's eyes too.....I got almost every one ever made and bet it didn't cost me $15.00.....they obviously don't resell very well, but that was a good thing for me.
