My daughter decided that she wants a High School Musical theme party after seeing the partyware in a catalog that came in the mail. I'm planning on borrowing a Karaoke (sp?) machine and getting the High School Musical karaoke CD for it. That's all the ideas I have...I need help. What can I do with these girls (she's inviting around 12)
    Decorate HS pennants?
    or do more girly things?
Should I have the movie on?
    This is a tough one.
I appreciate any ideas on this. Thanks.

hmm I haven't seen the movie to tell ya. Have you seen the movie? I mean I see the clothes all the time in the kids section so I'm guessing appropriate for kids, I'd let them watch the movie. Heck do that with karaoke and they can sing a long

hmm do you have fabric? maybe make an area where the karoke is to have fabric to look like stage curtrains? make it more stage like.

She's going on 7, right? The karaoke is a good idea. You also might think about a cd of just "regular" songs that are on the radio right now. The pennants might be a good idea too. You can make them out of felt and staple them to dowel rods. Shouldn't cost too much. Instead of High School Musical it could be Sophia's Musical. WOW. 12 little girls. Have you lost your sanity yet???? LOL.

I'm sorry I don't have anything to add, not ever having seen the movie or having a girl. But I just have to LOL out this comment! Good luck.

I lost my sanity a LONG time ago!
She's inviting 15 now....better than the last two years where she had 22!
Actually once they hit 6 they calmed down a lot at the parties.

Thanks for your ideas. I ordered the karaokee cd for high school musical last night and all the partyware. I think I'm going to do something where ahead of time I write down some quotes from the movie. Then they can pick one out of a hat or something and guess who said it in the movie. Then whoever gets it picks the next quote. It reminds me of the kinds of games we play on this board!

ohh how many characters are there? You can do the thing where you tape the name on the child's back. They show everyone who they are and they've got what is it 21 questions to guess who they are?

There are 4 main characters, but a bunch of others. I don't think I can come up with 15 characters so everyone gets one. I do like that idea.

What about using characters from other shows??? I know there are a bunch of shows on Nick that the kids love to watch... Thats So Raven, Hannah Montana.... maybe pick a couple of her favorite shows and pick some characters from them.

maybe even have them make their own music video to one of the songs on the cd. Have them plan it out, rehearse it and when they are ready you could video it, than make them each a copy as a thank you.....(if you have a digital video camera, loading it to the computer and burning a couple of cds shouldn't take too long and some the the cd's are pretty cheap,) then they could play it back whenever they wanted....
