    crocheted blanket

I have been working on a circular blanket for a few years now. I haven't touched in the last couple. I finally decided it was big enough this year and finished it off. It's been so warm this season that we haven't needed it - it figures. The first picture is a close up of the middle motif and the second picture is the whole piece on the bed (but I had to crop it too close for size).

Very nice. Is it stitched in the round? I'm working on one but it's done in individual motifs that are then attached. But instead of an afghan I'm going to try & make it a Christmas tree skirt. Do you crochet a lot? Would love to know if you have ever heard of of or know how to "graft". Everything I can find is with knitting not crocheting.

That is a beautiful piece LuAnn. A perfect lap blanket and will look so nice on the arm of a chair waiting for someone to use it!

Thanks ladies. I forgot to say that the pattern ends somewhere between the edge of the blanket and the center motif. I improvised somewhat and the last row is kind of ruffly.

Carol, this is done completely in the round. It went fast when I first started but near the end was time consuming. That's why I got so bored with it. I have never heard of grafting. I'll try to remember to ask my sister about it. She does more crochet than me and she knits too. I remember the pattern you showed that you wanted to make into a skirt. It's very lovely. That one looks like it would be fun to do.
