I also enjoy cardmaking. I made all my Christmas, Valentine, and St Patrick day cards this year. Also, Easter cards. Your card sounds very nice. Post a picture for us when you finish.
Does anyone here do any cardmaking? I am going to do a congratulations on your marriage card for my husband's cousin. I have a stencil and chalk I'm going to use on the front that says congratulations and has some flowers around it. I've also got a small book of vellum quotes. I am going to pick one to use inside. I was thinking of using eyelets to attach it. Does anyone have any other ideas of what I can do or do you think that is enough? Thanks for your ideas.

One idea...write or type the quote before you send off the card...then you can use it again.

I have never made cards but I know a lady who does stampin' up and she has some pretty nice cards. It has crossed my mind a few times to do it with all the scrapbooking thing I have but I never think about it in time before the holiday comes up. I think I might try abd do christmas cards but heck I can't even get my books done. I guess I should be doing them in my free it insted of web surfing. Good luck on your card making please post a photos so we can see your work.
I started out as a cardmaker and have evolved into a scrapper as well. You could also punch two holes at the top through the card and the vellum and attach it with a ribbon.

You could use brads to attach the quote. I like to use brads more than eyelets.
It sounds like enough on the card to me. I would agree with the brads or ribbon - they also look nice with vellum. I really like cardmaking. It's a great way to use up some scraps leftover from a scrapbook page.

I've never made a card, but I've seen some nice ones. Can anyone give me any advice on how to do cheap and simple cards. I have spent so much on scrapbooking, that I want to expand to cards to get my money out of my scrapbboking stuff. But I don't want to have to buy that much more stuff. When your making Christmas cards don't you have to have all the cards look kind of the same or is different better? I just think for something that your going to make a lot of you would want then the same to make it easier to make them....any pointers would be great.
