Can you use mylar balloons on a sb page? My ds had major surgery and received several balloons. I was thinking of use one or some as a background for pics I took of his stay in the hospital. I might just make a large collage for him and frame it if they can't be used on a page.

I don't see why you can't. I certainly would have no problem using them for accents or backgrouncs.

Thanks. If I ever get time to work on it, I'll post a pic.

I did some googling about this subject and I can't find anything that says it is not safe to use these mylar balloons when scrapbooking. I'd say, "go for it".

If you're worried about something leaching onto your photos from the balloons, one thing that might help is to first mat your photos on some acid-free cardstock, then place them on the balloons. That way your photos aren't directly touching the balloon material, but you can still have your balloon background (neat idea!). Use a contrasting color to the balloon, and the pictures will pop.

My thinking, for what it is worth, is that since you can use aluminum , copper, and steal on our layouts, why not mylar? It does not tarnish or rust nor deteriorate so how can it hurt a layout?

Thanks a lot. I have enough balloons and pic to try all different things. I'll post when I'm done. (But don't hold your breath. It may be awhile.)
