This is so nice Barb - she will love it.
What do you get when you take a 10 cent notebook and alter it? A journal for your friend!
Here's the cover. I was thinking of her living room when I made this (I know it's crazy, but it was 4 a.m.). Her living room became the inspiration because of the colors and feel of her living room- she may like it.
Tha main box says, "Life is a journey, Live the journey". The "Live the journey" part was made on my computer and the font I used was BD Renaissance. I used a Distress ink pad around the pp and on the pp on the journal itself. I used really cool fibers along the side of the coil binding that you can see a little. If you want to see a close up of the box that has her initials in it better, pop on over to the Challenges section and look in 52 Week Challenge #1. That box has a representation of each season around it. Snowflakes for winter, butterfly for Spring, flowers for summer, and autumn leaves for autumn.
This is so nice Barb - she will love it.

Wow Barb, that's awesome! She'll love it!
Barb I would have to say I agree with your dd "That is so freakin' awesome!!!!" you need to definetly embrace the love side the the relationshipDid you crumple your pp on the bottom and skim the distress ink pad over it too?
I love this! Very pretty and elegant looking yet fun!

Goal for 2008--97/200 pages done
LOL! Lori, you are so funny! I admit, I liked it better this morning. Last night, as you know, I wasn't too sure if I hated it or loved it. I still think it is one of those projects that when you see it, you either hate it or love it. I'm trying to break out of my comfort zone and that is hard for me to do so I will probably have more projects that I have a love/hate relationship with, lol! Since my DD loved it so much, I'm going to make one for her too with her initials in the 'seasons of life' box. Yes, I did crumple up the paper, flattened it out a bit, skimmed Vintage Photo Distress ink over it, misted it with distilled water in a mini mister, let the colors run, then I dried it with my heat gun. I also distressed the edges of the entire book cover, but it doesn't show up too well in the photo. A handy hint that I got from Janice- I alcohol inked the coil with copper mixative. I also had a brainstorm this morning and I alcohol inked a regular Papermate pen to match the journal. My friend will be here soon, so we'll see what kind of relationship she has with the journal, lol!Originally posted by LoriS.:
