yeah I think I either noticed that in the article or on the coupon thing. The do the same thing with Cricut too. Maybe after it's been out a while they'll start letting you use them.

I have a friend who works at MIchaels and has a little bit of knowledge about the issue. Marhta's contract with Michaels spefically states that the coupons may not be used for a period of one year on her products.

My mom has also worked retail all her life. She says that's stupid because the company who makes the product still gets their profit. The company who loses profit on the coupons is the store itself.

Just food for thought I guess. I don't think Martha's stuff is going to sell well, at least from what I've heard from my local scrapping friends. None of them will buy it and were not impressed with it either. Maybe Martha will rethink it.

My Michael's person said that Martha does not want her product to be considered 'discount' product. I thought that was silly as Michaels is known as a craft 'warehouse' of sorts. You know, good prices, product crammed into every nook and cranny.... If she wanted her product to be considered more upscale, she should have gone to lss' and sold her product.

Our M's stores have her line set up now and she has taken the very first isle. I have spoken to several of the people working there and they all have basically made the same comment...Martha said she would rather put her items in the trash than to sell them using a coupon. Now what kind of manufacturer is that?? I would bet ole Martha has never even scrapped a page. Her items are pretty but a bit out of the price range most of us would spend on items. Did any of you see the color coordinated cupcake liners? Now geesh, let's get real here. How many of you host a crop and have your cupcakes match your paper???..LOL or ROFL..

And as for Martha, I would not buy her product. I have never cared for her, she seems to forget she was middle class once upon a time also. So if she counts on people like myself her items will sit on the shelf a very, very, very long time. And that's just fine with me.
    So there's my 3 cents.

I agree with Atty. Prices are to high. I wasn't impressed with what ours had(it wasn't much there). There are alot more lines than hers I LIKE.

I agree that Martha products can sit there from now til doomsday!
She said on her show this morning that "while boxes were still sitting on the floor being opened, Michael's sold over a million dollars worth of our product".
That doesn't hold true in this area, I'll guarantee you!
