Hello everyone. I made this to hold my makeup so I didn't want to put fibers or ribbons on the handle because I figured I'd get them wet and dirty. Same reason I didn't use any paper embellishments. Anyone have any ideas to dress it up a bit more? I do like it well enough like this but something a bit extra might be nice. Do you think it would look cheesy if I laminated some paper embellishments?

How about rubber stamping with Staz-on and then gluing on some bling. Love the color. I can see swirls and flourishes with Stickles or rhinestones.

How about some of those metal embellies that you see for jewelery or even some hair items altered?

Thought of something else. Would that paste product of your's through a stencil stick? It would add a little shimmer and show another way to use your product.

LOL Gail that would be hilarious if I'd overlooked my own stuff but no it won't stand up to on-going water or me banging it against the vanity. But I am thinking some plastic, metal embellies and bling is the way to go. I have some lime green bead fringe that I think would work, and I might even have a big lime green plastic flower from a ponytail holder, but don't know if I want to sacrifice it

Thanks Donna, would you believe I didn't set out to make lime? Although if I had been thinking of color theory I would have realized I would lol. I took what I thought was dark mustard color and a really dark teal alcohol ink. but I guess with the original tin being white it lighted the hues and voila lime! Life is good. lol

Lori, you can use Royal Decoupage finish to add some things to it. The decoupage would stand up to water if you put a few coats on.

Ya' just gotta love those alcohol inks !

Hey, LoriS! It is time for you to take a break from all your soggy stuff, broken washer blues, and daily chores. Why, you ask??? Because I am soooooo excited to see how you are going to put the finishing touches on your make-up tin. I keep checking in to see if you have completed this project.

Well Judy believe it or not I haven't forgotten about my tin lol, When I was at the dollar store buying some plastic stuff to store things in just in case the frozen pipe gremlin makes another visit I found a little lime green flower with a mirror as a center, I thought it went well with the makeup thing so I'm going to epoxy it onto the front (but I need to buy some 2 part epoxy) Now that's as far as I've gotten but I did buy a new washer today lol
