I finally, finally found some acetate of the right thickness at HL last night so played today . Acetate is cool stuff, oh yeah!

I used my Versamark on the back of the acetate, sprinkled it with Kaleidoscope embossing powder and heat embossed it. Then I stamped the Nativity image on the front of the acetate and heat embossed again. Matted it on navy cs. Made an acetate tag and used sparkle blue embossing powder to do the Merry Christmas. Put in an antique gold eyelet and used a jump ring to insert the tag into the ribbon bow. I also used a beautiful, shimmery, really warm color of copper fiber along the center of the red ribbon. You can't really see the copper fiber color very well , but trust me , it looks awesome. I used my embossing folders (new 'Script' one from HL last night- (all YorkieMomma's fault ). First I crinkled the cs, rubbed brown chalk all over it, blended it in with a paper towel, then chalked the torn edges and added a few brown chalk accents in the center. Then I put that through the Cuttlebug in the 'Script' folder so it was embossed. Dipped my finger into a black pigment ink pad and rubbed over the script. Borrowed YorkieMomma's technique of heat embossing the edges of the 'D'vine Swirls' embossed mat. I used gold metallic cs from DCWV for the card base.

Close up of the Nativity image...

You can't see it in the photo but the acetate is embossed too with the 'D'vine Swirls' folder.

OMG that is gorgeous. May have to break my promise to DH about cutting my spending and head down to HL next week. The acetate is in the art section, right? Were there different weights, and if so, which one do I want?

Barb this is actual acetate not a transparency? Who would have thought you could emboss that? What kind of adhesive did you use to mount it to the navy cardstock?

It is in the Art Dept. section where you can buy mat board and huge sheets of cs. You can also buy a pack of 8.5 x 11- it's called Dura-lar. It was $10.99 for the 8.5 x 11 pack. I have no clue what thickness mine is, but there were only two to choose from so either one would work.
