when you want to use glitter? and then what's the best to use when you want to use chalk? and should i use a spray sealer when i am done? i am only stamping on cardstock. not too sure if that makes a difference or not.
thanks for your help and advise. i don't know why i find inks so confusing.

I think the only thing I've worried about is making sure to use pigment when doing powder embossing. other than that I just make sure everything is dry before doing any coloring. I didn't know it was supposed to make a difference

If I'm trying to "adhere" glitter to a stamped image I use VersaMark. Same with chalk - by stamping the image with VersaMark, then tamping the chalk on the stamped image (I use those little cotton puffs).

VersaMark is a watermark pad, not really an ink, but I use it as a "glue" for chalk and pigment powders.

I would be afraid to just use ink to hold glitter because I don't think there is anything sticky enough to hold the glitter. When I use glitter I use adhesive. They have a glue stamp pad that is supposed to work for glitter.

    Just my thoughts.

Mary, you're asking questions I've had too. Glad you're getting answers for both of us. I have a stamp pad that is clear that is for embossing, plus I also have the Versamark pad. I wondered what it was for. So thanks ladies for the explanation.

Also Mary, look at the stamp swap sigh up, there were a lot of questions I asked then and maybe some of the answers will help you too.

If I have a lot of chalk on a page I will spray it with the Kryon stuff that's acid free that will set it - I forget the name of it. I't pretty potent so I do it outside.

You really shouldn't have to put a finish on your chalk.

Besides using the Versamark pad (which can be used for a wide variety of stamping applications and techniques) I use glue pens - ZIG 2-way or Write & Rub. The glue pens allow you to apply glitter, chalk, or flock, to selected areas or outlines. They also allow you to do writing using the same embellishments.
