Since we can't really do a Cookie Exchange I thought it would be a nice idea to post our favorite Christmas Cookie recipes.

    Russian Tea Balls

My M-I-L made these for ages and now a favorite I do every year. Maybe to go with the Russian Tea recipe on the thread.

    1 Cup butter
    1/2 Cups sifted powdered sugar
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    2 & 1/4 Cups flour
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    3/4 Cup finely chopped walnuts

    Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Mix butter, sugar, vanilla thoroughly. Stir flour and salt together; blend into butter mixture and add nuts. Chill dough. Roll dough into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes until let but not brown. While still warm roll in sifted powdered sugar and again after cooled. Store in covered container, makes about 3 dozen.
