I found the is one on the Scrapbooks Etc. site. I like the simple blockiness (is that a word?) of this and thought it would be a fairly quick way to do a two pager with lots of photos.

04-12-2008, 10:44 AM
I vote for it as a word, lol. I like this sketch. Thanks Cassie!

I need to cut the grass --- then I'm scrapping this one for sure! Love the sketch (the more pic's on a page the merrier I always say) LOL

04-12-2008, 04:29 PM
ok here's mine. Didn't have a picture that big so improvised. :D

Great job....and very fast......looks yummy that cake.

04-12-2008, 06:52 PM
Looks Good! I like the left side with the journaling & photo --- great take on the sketch.

04-12-2008, 07:45 PM
Donna, I really like your LO and your improvisation :).

04-12-2008, 09:17 PM
I like your improvisation for the big photo, too. It came out great!

04-12-2008, 09:59 PM
Thanks ladies. Was fun getting this one done. Had to change a few things. NEver do have pictures that big for a LO unless it's just one I have of the grandkids.

04-13-2008, 09:41 AM
OK, here's my 8.5 x 11 double page conversion of the challenge. :) sam

Great layouts ladies. Love how you did them. I love this layout I like all the photos you can cram on a page.

04-13-2008, 10:49 AM
Another great one Sam. Just love how your LO's are so clean and crisp.

04-13-2008, 11:59 AM
Lovely LO's ladies :D

04-14-2008, 01:21 AM
Great lo's ladies!!! :)

04-14-2008, 06:20 AM
Sam, love your LO! What font did you use for Kitty Hawk?

04-14-2008, 08:52 AM
Another wonderful layout Sam....love the colors. In fact I liked the tag idea so much a scrap lifted your idea and added it to my pages....hope you don't mind.

Here is mine....I just kept it simple today. We visited the air and space museum on Saturday (DH being a retired Navy pilot stills loves planes) and was just in total awe of the Blackbird. I must admit it was darn impressive and considering when it was built and the speeds it could reach.....even I was amazed!

04-14-2008, 09:35 AM
Nicely Done, Bree! I like the dark background to enhance the pictures.

04-14-2008, 10:20 AM
Thank you Sam.....it has has the space logo on it......it doesn't show up well on the photo. I actually went back an changed these pages.....I liked your tag idea so I added it these pages...reminded me of military shoulder "things" and I wanted to add a little gold to the pages so the brads, stars and emblem did that. Thank you for the idea......we seem to have a plane theme going......just noticed that.

04-14-2008, 10:27 AM
I know - planes, planes and more planes! Bonnie's being some too - LOL

04-14-2008, 10:29 AM
Very nice LO's Bree. The tag and brads add just the right touch. I also like the dark bg. TFS

Great job Aussie! Love the pics too! :)

Here is my take on the challenge. It was actually perfect timing since I had just printed out pictures from Thanksgiving and I always have a ton. We have Thanksgiving at my grandmother's house every year. It's always a full house because most of the guys deer hunt all day and then come out of the woods for dinner. We no longer have just a kids table anymore and now have overflow in the living room with people cramming in whereever they can. It makes for a crazy evening, but I couldn't imagine it any other way. My grandmother hasn't been feeling well so she stayed in her recliner to eat so I guess she probably enjoyed having people in the living room with her. Thanks for looking!

Great layouts ladies! GInny, did I spy a birthday cake on the dessert table???? We always have a birthday cake at Thanksgiving too for my sister's, lol.

04-17-2008, 03:51 PM
Cute Lo Ginny...and what a great tradition. Am sure Grandma was happy that all joined her too.

04-17-2008, 08:27 PM
Oooo, I love that space one!

04-17-2008, 11:15 PM
Just figured out why I was having such trouble with this one - it was designed for 8 1/2x11 not 12x12. I was trying to do a 12x12 & it just wasn't looking like the sketch. Now that I know that, I might be able to finish it.

04-17-2008, 11:19 PM
oh great Thanksgiving Day LO! I still have those pics to scrap! We had 3 B-days to celebrate and everyone had their own cake :D

04-18-2008, 08:25 AM
Carol - the sketch is for a double 12x12 - but you can do whatever you want with it. I only do 8.5x11 and did a conversion LO to fit my size journals. Just have fun with it.

04-18-2008, 10:45 AM
Sam, I hate to contradict you, but I went to Scrapbooks, Etc. 'cuz I thought there was some cut off on the right page. Found the original & it was 8 1/2 x11.

04-18-2008, 11:04 AM
Oh OK, I was reading the picture measurements of 8" x 11" for the left picture with 2 more on it's right for the left hand LO of the double sketch. Whatever .... :)

04-18-2008, 08:43 PM
Great lo's Ladies

04-20-2008, 02:07 PM
I had forgotten about checking out the challenges. I have just seen some great LOs. Bree, my DH retired from the USN also and he worked on the planes as a crew chief, so we always have plane photos for me to scrap. I wonder if your DH was in any of the Squadrons with my DH.

04-27-2008, 10:21 AM
Here is mine to this - changed a little
Better late than never

04-27-2008, 01:17 PM
what great LOs everyone has done! I must not have paid attention that week cuz I don't remember it at all! but now I want to do it! LOL
and I have to side with Sam- it is a 12x12 LO... just add up the measurements on the pics! although someone had posted a comment about 8.5x11 LO on the original site. :)

04-27-2008, 05:11 PM
I missed your LO Janelle, very nice. Some great pictures.

04-27-2008, 08:14 PM
Great job, Janelle!
