Ok.. I've looked at everyone's time preferences and while I cannot please you all.. I can try http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
At this time I am looking at doing the first online lesson on <thinks> well.. it will be Monday 18th June for me at 10am but for you.. and this is New York time...

SUNDAY 17TH JUNE at 8PM. (New York Time)

Sorry I cant work out the different times for everyone.
Now.. before that time I will send out some information files to you all and please.. watch this space because I am going to have to organise some sort of format for this class because so far there are nearly THIRTY ladies interested so I am not sure how we will go all being in the chat room together... but I am sure we wont get that number but we must be prepared.
This is all new to me as I am sure it is for you. Let's NOT be daunted by it all.. I know it's going to be fun and I am sure going to enjoy teaching you what I can.

love to you all... Angie

hmm I think we've only been able to post links to pictures in chat before.

Are we going to be in one of the chat rooms or is it done on this board. If you do it on this board, it might be easier. You post your first instruction with pictures, then wait a bit and answer any questions, then post the next instruction/picture and so on. That way the class gets saved for everyone who can't be here live.

I will be there wherever it is, though.

I will be there - and try to stay up - lol
I agree we need it here Angie rather than the chat room - that way everyone can see it
and save it

Janelle.. when you say "we need it here rather than the chat room" what do you mean???
PLEASE.. if any one has any ideas I would be most grateful.. I've never been in an online anything so someone please explain????? As a matter of fact.. could someone tell me exactly what the online crops are like? How do they work? Remember.. give me EVERY detail.. I may be able to make flowers but I can be pretty thick with some things http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I aim to please!
As for me now.. I am off out for the day. Hubby is taking me to this wonderful shop called "Starfish Lane"... they have the most beautiful range of papers... stamps.. embellishments... ribbons.. etc etc etc.. then we are out for lunch. Catch you all later..

when she says here she means on the board. hmm search Leona Lynns name and you should come up with her online crops.

Basically the 1st step she would describe what she was doing and add a picture and post it. Then when everyone had completed she moved on to the next step typed it out and had a picture.

You just have to hit the refresh button on the comp a lot to make sure you don't miss a question or the next step http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Clear as mud yet?

The added benifit will be the class on the board so if we missed or want to do it again it will be here for us to copy and refer back to if need be.

doing it here on the board rather than in chat sounds great! That way those of us who can't make it will still be able to get in on the fun!

Thanks for doing this Angie!

Will Miss Tshina be teaching any classes?

Angie53
06-08-2007, 08:13 AM
THANKYOU LADIES.. you've been so helpful. I now know exactly how I will be doing these lessons. I have read over how the online crops are done and I don't really think it work just yet to do the classes like that HOWEVER.. I will be doing the class here in this area.. I will go over everything and then we will use the chat room for you to ask me questions or for me to try and explain something that is a little tricky.
You can ask questions in the lesson area as well and all your questions will be answered here so everyone can refer back to them and/or save them. So yes.. they will be on the board.. and in chat...
I hope you can understand what I'm saying.. I'm a little tired at the moment and even typing is a pain.. (sook) I cut my finger while trimming a leaf (sook) The bandaids get in the way when I try to type..
Anyway.. where was I? Oh yes.. lessons will be in full here.. I'll also be sending out certain instruction sheets and we'll have 'chat time' in the chat room. OK?

Will Miss Tshina be teaching any classes??
I have NO doubts at all that she will be involved.. try stopping her!!!
The dates I gave earlier in this post will stay as they are... I'll have the actual lesson up in this area a few days before that date so you can think about questions etc. You will all have a few files emailed to you so you can work along as we go.. that's a little hard to explain but you'll see what I mean when you get the attachments.

ok.. this lady's pillow is calling her... so Miss Tshina and I are off to dream land...

night night and many hugs... Angie

Ok Angie - I think I'm a bit online challenged and confused lolol http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

I haven't participated in the other online crops/classes, but I have gone and looked at them with the directions and then the pictures. Is this what you will be doing? And then people that are participating "reply" as they have finished each step.

Karen.. I'll put you on the list.. regardless of whether you can get the tools etc you can still collect the information sheets etc.

I will tell you this much in advance.. the initial tools could cost you up to about $30 in your currency but I am SURE you already have some of them.. for example.. I would be surprised if most of you don't already have good sharp small scissors.. like the CUTTERBEES.. am I correct? Mind you ... they dont have to be those particular ones... and I am sure most of you would have tweezers? yes? so there you go...
For the first flower.. we are going to do something easy but not for the first few lessons.. that will mainly involve learning the technique.. anyway.. the first flower will be a ROSE.. not a big one.. just a little one that you'll be able to use for sooooo many things. To make this rose ladies the only punch you need is a medium heart... which punches out a heart about one inch. Once again.. doesn't have to be that size.. it can be a little bigger.. but NOT smaller.. you'd find it a little too hard to do it smaller although it can be done http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I hope this has alleviated some of your worries.. I've been putting the names and email addresses into a document all ready for me to send off the info... I'll be doing that during the week.

I've just had a thought... I don't know if your local scrapbooking shop does the same as ours do but if you go to a shop here and pay just a few dollars they let you use their punches to punch what you want.. so once you know what you need you can just take your paper along and punch out the shapes needed... failing that.. once we get going perhaps some of you can punch shapes for each other.. let's say someone has the medium heart and another has the rose leaf (birch) you can send off your paper and get each other to punch out some shapes for you.
My friend in Queensland (two states away from me) and I often ask each other to punch some shapes one of us doesn't have and send them... it only costs a basic postage stamp... anyway.. it's just an idea.. but for now... DON'T PANIC OR WORRY... you'll be surprised.

love you all... Angie

Please ladies.. I haven't sent anything out yet. I did say that I will be doing that later this week. I'm sorry if I seem slow but this is taking quite a bit of organising and it's really important to me that I do it right.

It seems my life is one drama after another sometimes. Today there was a HUGE European Wasp in the house.. I have no idea how it got in but it did and I was terrified. If you get bitten by one of these it causes immense pain and in some cases can be really serious. My major concern was not so much for me but for Miss Tshina.. she is such a sticky beak and as soon as she heard me spraying something she woke from where she was sleeping and was out to investigate.. then she found the wretched thing and wanted to play with it. I shudder to think what I would have done had she got bitten... or worse.. ate the horrid thing! Oh yes.. she might say "it's a cat thing" but I worry so much about her.
I covered the thing with a plastic lid and then got a container to put it in.. had I not.. Tshina would have moved a mountain to get to it! All is well... I showed it to my hubby when he came in from work and he's checked around the house to make sure there are no nests nearby... do you have these horrid creatures in your country??

Back on track.. PLEASE don't worry Barb (thecountryrose) and Rosegirl... no one will miss out. I promise.. you'll ALL get an email from me by the weekend. I know we have a 'chat class' on Sunday but you wont need these items for that..

love to you all... Angie

rofl I don't think we have wasps that big. I can just picture this poor tshina. Last summer our dog Dusty who was a pup at the time was out doing his business at night when we heard a yelp. By the time we got out there his face had started swelling. We rushed him to the ER vet and poor thing the had to muzzle him. they gave him some antibotics and in a hour or so his face was almost back to normal.

We don't have any of those, but some parts of the U.S. have killer bees. So glad you got that wasp out of your house!

Yikes, glad to here Miss Tshina did not get the wasp. I was curious to see what a European Wasp looked like so I googled it. It looks a lot like our bees here in PA. None the less, and despite what they look like, it is all about the sting that makes them meanies.

I had a wasp in my house yesterday. The darn thing swooped in right over my head. I ran for the fly swatter and had lost the wasp. Luckily it didn't take long to find it, as it made its way through 3 rooms in a matter of a minute. It took about 10-15 swings and lots of ducking, but I got the sucker. Here is a picture of a wasp here in PA....

Nest is nearly always concealed, commonly underground or in a roof or wall cavity.

I would be running for dear life, I hate bees, wasps or anything like that, I am petrified of them and I am not even allergic.

Reminds me of the time I was pregnant and married to my ex and we were walking in the park with our dog on a holiday. While we were walking I felt a bee on my hand and of course I started flailing (sp) and running away. My DH (now ex http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif) in the meantime had stepped in a bee's nest buried in the ground and they swarmed him http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. Since I ran away I didn't see any of this until he came around the corner of some bushes and I saw him flailing (sp again) his arms as he was being stung over and over again, all about the head (bald head), face, arms, back - you name it, it was stung http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. This is what the European Wasp looks like.. they are so nasty... (shudder) Do you know.. Tshina keeps going to where she saw it last.. looking for it. That girl remembers everything!
A friend of mine made the horrid suggestion I might have a nest in the house.. if I did I would know because Tshina would have found it. Everytime she hears me with the insect spray she come running.. and says "nooooooooooo it's mine" before she even knows what I am spraying http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

This morning I woke up and in my hand was one of her toy mice.. and in one hubby's shoes was another of her favourite toys.. does she love us or what?? http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I think this enough of the creepy crawlies.. I dont like spiders, snakes or anything else that bites or stings.. since this encounter hubby has checked the house inside and out..no nests.. so let's us hope this was just a one off.

love.. Angie

Those look like the wasps that we have here in Michigan. The can even take out the morter in between bricks or stone to make a nest.

That is so funny Penny.. I was going to say "a dead spider is a good spider" you can change spider for wasp, bee or whatever but I was afraid someone might be a nature lover and get upset with me http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
I have a friend who will not kill a spider.. she catches them and releases them outside... well I take my hat of to her for being so brave.. me?? I'm a coward through and through...
Normally I would have screamed for hubby to get it but he was at work.. and I had to protect my Tshina above all...

And yes Dawn.. where would we be without our bug spray.. normally we would use the surface type spray because that kills them quick but to get that I would have had to go through the wasp... you know the rotten thing had a go at me before I could get the spray that was closest.. they are really aggressive.

(shudder) we really must stop talking about such things http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

When my son was about 7 we were camping and he decided to walk around the campsite while dh and I got the tent set up. All of a sudden he let out a blood curdling scraem. When we got to him he was being stung by wasps. Unlike bees, when they sting they loose their stinger, wasps can continue to sting. Not good for a mom who is allergic to bee stings. We grabbed him and started knocking the wasps off. About two hours latter he was still crying about his ear hurting. Turns out he had half of a wasp still sticking into the skin behind his ear. He had knocked off the top half of the body but the lower half with the stinger was still there. We watched him closely for the rest of the day to make sure he didn't have a bad reaction.

Scary. Your story brought that memory flooding back.

My grandson when he was younger... was outside playing in his yard and then we heard him screem and when we got to him he was covered with bees... we got as many as we could off of him before taking him in the house where they could not attack him any more...then we put him a tub of cool water and he continued to scream for over an hour because he thought he was still being stung... We are very lucky that he didn't have a reaction to them too... I think he was only about 5 years old at the time... oh that was a terrible day!!!! ...

Ok Angie on with the flowers....http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
