View Full Version : Looking for a good white pen

02-04-2008, 10:50 AM
I am looking for a good white pen. I want it to be more of a fine point not paint marker. I want it for doodling and detail work. I had a good one, thought I would remember the brand, and threw it out when it was finished. To make a long story short, I have tried many different ones and none of them have really worked well, and I sure don't remember the brand. Any suggestions?

I have a Marvy Gel Excel pen I like. I haven't used it much except to write on dark paper, but it works well for that.

Louise, I had the same problem....I bought I don't know how many different brands and none of them worked right. I wound up throwing them out! Then this past Oct. I was in Michaels and picked up two or three more, as I was desparate. One of them was a "Gelly Roll" Med. by Sakura and it works great and guess what? It was only 99 cents!!!!!!!!!!! I just checked my receipt to make sure...I purchased it 10/25/2007.

I made this card last month and used my white Gelly Roll pen to make the white dots on the green scalloped circle...it works great!!!

I think mine is by Sakura as well and I like it. Whatever the brand I got it at Mike's where you can buy individual pens. Bring a scrap of dark paper (since they only provide white) and try it out while your at the store. I do know that I have two and one I like more than the other

I also got what ever Mike's had. Can't remember if it is the Gelly Roll or the Sakura

I think I have the Gelly Roll and Sakura and I really don't like either all that much. I'm going to try that Signo one if I can find it w/o paying $5 to ship.

Actually the Gelly Roll Med that I bought at Michael's for .99 cents is a Sakura.

Thanks for all the info and links. I think I am going to go to Mikes and try to find the Sakura pen, but not the Jelly Roll, that is one of the ones that I threw out. I'll try that until I can find the Uniball Signo locally. I am thinking that is the one that I had and loved. Again thanks.

Shaukc, Thanks for the offer. I have just got in contact last week with a rep in my area and am actually meeting with her this week. I will have to add the pen to my shopping list, terrible thing to have to add more to that list, LOL. I actually never even thought about their having pens.

Thanks Cristal for posting this picture!!! I just bought the Gelly Roll from Mike's yesterday, only ours are $1.29 :(, but I also have the Marvy pen and it does like your example- it leaves skips. I haven't tried my Gelly Roll yet, but now I'm happy I bought it :D.

How funny. I just noticed that the Marvy by you is $1.39 and here Marvy is 99 cents. How do these stores do their pricing?!

Oh, I just noticed that you are working on altering your keyboard :D.

Yes, every time I go to the bathroom or am sleeping in the morning Gage colors my keyboard...man it makes me mad.

Well, look on the bright side, maybe he is a natural born alterer :). Maybe you can give him his own stuff to alter and that would keep him away from altering the keyboard.
