STeve just called and we are not moving to California!!! Yay! That means that I can move Steve and his office stuff downstairs and take over the small bedroom we share as an office, now!

AND THAT MEANS that I am going to go back through all your guys' wonderful photos and organization tips and redo my scrapbook space. If you recall, I showed you my work space and it is TINEEEEEEY....and stuffed. http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif This is going to be like untying the girdle strings!! My little space is gonna pop some buttons of relief! http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Wanna come help me?! We could have some good laughs http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif while we huff and puff our way through tugging and pulling things to and fro around the room. The only down side is that I won't be able to make cards or scrapbook while I am reorganizing. Bummer!

Ohhhhh, I would love to help- turns out I am better at organizing other people's things than I am my own!!

Have fun!

Will do!

I am also better at organizing others than myself. Have the coffee on and tell us when. Good luck

No thanks! Been there, done that! It's a ton of work but worth it! Good luck!

Hooray!!! You can take some stuff and set it aside somewhere else so you can get a quick fix http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif while you're re-doing your space.

Glad you don't have the problems and stresses of a move to face, re-organizing you SB space should be a snap. I'd rather set-up a space than move any day. Since 1963, I've moved 20 times (military family). I'm hoping I'm through.

I agree I don't like moving - only 1 in 28 years ... but I do like how you get to clean out every corner and crevise. Right now We're redoing a bed and bath and have moved into the den with the bed room. (We work after work and on weekends) We figured we need good sleep it may take us 3 months...LOL.

Man was cleaning out that closet bad. I feel good about it now. Can't wait to get into the new area. All the demo is done now we get to start building.

Sorry got off subject of storage... I don't have many stamps. And I guess by that story I'm not the one to ask...LOL.

Good luck on your space. I would love to help, but I dont thing you are nextdoor, but if you are sure I'll be right over.

I have half of hubby's stuff downstairs. Now I am to all the stuff on and in his desk! Ugh! That means I have to go through eveything to make sure that I am not moving piled up junk mail that has not been sorted through! I will put on an audio book while I take on this tedious venture. Perhaps by tomorrow, I can move his desk out and bring my new desk in! Let's hope!

Judy, how is the desk doing? Did you get it moved? I bet you can not wait to get started on your space. Please keep us updated.
Don't forget the photos of before, during and after.

Judy did you find any lost treasures while you were cleaning up and moving? How about you Clarinda? Was it Ziggy who found her lost diamond and a check? Ladies, don't forget the pictures!!

I finally got the boys to switch out the major parts of the desks. They figured that I could do the remaining dragging and tugging of the parts up from dowstairs. That was a bummer but I did succeed in getting it all brought up to the scraproom. I am actually very tired and in much pain but, I keep swallowing asprin and continue on. Now I am down to the detail portion of putting everything back. This is the hardest since I am not a 'detail person'...I'm a broad-thinker.

So, in a bit, I will go back into the room, turn on an audio book and try to figure out where to put all my scissors, ribbons, supplies and such. But, I now have room for one or two more people to be able to work in the room with me! THAT is a plus!

No, I have not found any more treasures! I may have found my limit on valuables. Thanks for asking. I will try to post photos of the room when I get it finished.

One hint that I wish I had thought of beforehand....put cords and plugs where you can get to them in a year or so without having to tear the room apart. I put a lamp on my computer stand on my desk.....instead of the computer....and ran the cord down thru the hole that holds the cables, etc. Well, I found a terriffic lamp at Goodwill today for $5.00 and I have to tear half the desk apart to get to the plug. Hindsight's 20/20.

no that was bitaglitz that found her lost diamond and checkbook. My lost earings were lost in the trailer and they didn't turn up when we moved so I'll have to go to another jeweler (my Dad's a jeweler http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif ) and replace them so Dad doesn't know! (and Mom at that!)

06-13-2007, 04:14 PM
That is a good idea, fotonana. I have put those circut-breaker type of plug sockets in each outlet so that I have access to multiple outlets and can change my 'electricals' where ever I want them.

I am finding that I need more drawer space. I may have to invest in a couple of the plastic containers that will fit under my desk. I have finally quit for the day. Progress is very slow, right now. so, I am going to take .... http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

When I created my space I made sure to put a power strip on top of my work table so that I don't have to crawl under the table to plug things in. It has really come in handy. I can plug in my embossing tool, iron, sewing machine, etc, and it is all in arms reach.

06-14-2007, 07:35 PM
Good idea, too. But, at this point I would hav to scoot all my very important, doo-dads aside to fit it on my desk! http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif I guess, the huffing and puffing to get to the floor and back can be considered aerobic excercise! http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
