Can you find the hidden country in the following paragraph:
I recently bought a baby cot from my local shop for my son Daniel, to calm his wails. On the way home my car boot came open and Daniel's cot landed with a resounding crunch on the road. Luckily my insurance covered the loss and we bought him another one with a picture of two whales on it.

Yes, there are 6 F's.
Who got all 6 in the first try?
I didn't, I too got 3.
The reasoning behind this phenomenon
is:
The brain cannot process "OF."
Anyone who counts all 6 "F's" on the first go is a genius.
Three is normal, four is quite rare.

Ahhhh! THAT brings back memories! My mom and dad would always ask us kids this brain teaser while we were taking drives. My brother caught on very early with it and joined in with the folks, asking the question. Me...it took a lonnnnnnggggg time for me to 'get' it.
It was this little ditty: "Railroad crossing! Watch out for the cars! Spell it without any 'R's"!
In true good parent-fashion, when my kids were young, I started to recite this to them until they figured it out!
And then there were the 'Repeat' teasers...

But often not in the same way
I can't be changed
But can be rewritten
I can be forgotten
And can be also lost with death

But not in ponies
My last is in pretty,
But not in beautiful
What am I?

09-09-2007, 02:26 PM
Huhhhhh???? Bonnie, I liked the gummy bear one better! http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif But, I'd say the farmer carried the heavier load but I don't know why, except I know this is a trick question so on THAT premise...it has to be the farmer! But, I would like to think that the farmer was being a good example to the hired hand and wanted to show him a good work ethic. By doing so, this would encourage the hired hand to work well. However, it may have been the farmer because he was more interested in getting the load put away but the hired hand took the lighter loads because he did not want to work as hard. But, I will wait to see if someone has a better answer and can give a reason why... http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
