I've been liking this and other 6x6 square cards. Does anyone have a template - or can suggest a site - for making envelopes? Otherwise, how do you mail them? I've been reduced to using 1/2 page envelopes but I am most unhappy with that "solution." TIA - Ginny

You can get an envelope template here:

This is for the 6x6 card envelope template. I have several sizes that I use and I like them all, especially the half fold envelope template. You can just fold your 8.5 x 11 sheet in half to make a card, and then make an envelope to go with it.

I use a coluzzle template. A lot of the time when I make a square card I'm putting it on a gift and don't even use an envelope, especially if it coordinates with the wrapping paper.

you're best bet though for square cards if you're mailing is to find a Card envie and then put something in it so the card doesn't move around. I think there's a way to make a rectangluar envie with a square spot for the card though. It cost more to send square cards. Hallmark had this with there Fresh Ink Cards that were square, they had envies that were square and said more postage needed and larger envies that could hold the square card but were longer so you wouldn't need extra.

I make 5.5" and 6" square cards and have found the envelopes at our paper store -- cost the same as the 5x7's. I "think" postage is additonal 17 cents - if it's less than 1/4 inch thick - when it's over 1/4 thickness it's another added postage (can't remember just what that was). I'll have to check the USPS web site for the exact costs.

Here's my card, not real crazy about it. May try another later on. Made with scraps and wallpaper.

Thanks for the info. Cass - I didn't know Coluzzle had an envelope template that large. I'll have to look for it some more. Otherwise, I do like the one from Green Sneakers. Thanks - Ginny

I made this card for my DD, I want to congratulate her on her recent success selling her jewlery, so I used the picture from this week's LO challenge. She'll get a kick out of it.

I reformated it to 5x7 card - TFL sam

I really like everyone's cards. I need to get back to scrapping, too. I was thinking about doing a photo card for a birthday party we have this weekend, now that I see one I def. am going to try one. I was going to make it like a 6x6 scrapbook page, but a card. We'll see.
I've been spending my free time knitting, trying to finish the wrap I started last november, but my scrapbook stash is calling.
