Many of you have asked to see the baskets I was making. I made over 100 (they decided they didn't need so many). It will take 2 posts to show them all to you. The event was a huge success. Everyone loved the baskets. The guy that ran the "Casino" said he has been doing this for years and he had never seen such great baskets. People wanted to buy them out-right. Even the men were complimentary. I am pooped but, I have 3 more baskets to make tomorrow for the tea next week and another gal just called to say she had three more for me and will bring them by in the morning.

The shelter has a thrift shop, so the ladies in the thrift shop keep their eyes out for new items that can be used for the baskets. We also use some gently/near new items for the baskets. Volunteers also donate items for our use.

Those are lovely. We have a church that has 2 functions a year and the proceeds from their auctions fund local charities for children. If their baskets were like yours they would double their priofits. My friend and I always make a scrapbooking basket for them. It garners big bucks.
