O.K., so what's with the ads? They weren't here yesterday.

Where are you seeing ads? I don't see any.

Now I'm not, either. I swear they were there half hour ago when I posted about my CB. They popped up in the corner of every post. And I know I was signed on cuz I was posting. Guess I'm losing it.

Signed in with 1000 posts or more and you should not see them. Since SAS was put online, I think we had ads on it for a very short time and they did not make any money. We pay about 180 or so everytime a new update comes out for the software, plus the costs to host the site each month on top of that. I figured if I put the ads on there that unregistered people and people with less than 1000 posts can see, maybe they can make enough over the course of time to pay for at least one update.

If you have 1000 posts or more and see them, maybe the system has not moved your name into the usegroup that sees no ads yet. It may take an hour or so for this to happen.

Must have been a glitch then because I'm well over 2000 posts. It's no biggie, just startled me, that's all.

OK...I see them at the top of the page and in the first post from Sprout?

the system does these processes every x minutes or x hours. once of them is to check the usergroups that people are in based on certain factors. I tried to waut until I thought that took effect for everyone, but I guess I should have given it another hour or so.

Either way, the ads were one of those things that had to be done although they will likely bring in very little money. I am sure everyone is in the same boat with household finances....trying to make your money go the distance, so many will understand that with paying each month for hosting, then dropping $180 every so often for software updates, a few ads on the site to help cover even 10% of those costs should not be a bad thing.

I don't mind the ads. BK do what you have to do. Thanks for keeping the board going.

How do we sign up to help support SAS by sending you money? I do not mind supporting home!

same here. I don't mind seeing a few ads either. I'm an expert at ignoring them. Just as long as you don't get those annoying pop-ups or roll-over ads.

nope, no pop-ups, interstitials, or anything like that, just plain old ads.

But how do we help support the SAS website?

I don't mind seeing ads on the header but I certainly hate it when outsiders put ads in our threads. If sales ads on the header help support a site that I love I don't mind.

But how do we help support the SAS website?

Just enjoy.

I just realized you have like 17,000 posts. I have been on some forums for 4 years and all of them combined I don't have 17,000 posts. Your fingers must be tired.

No, my fingers are not tired, my mouth just runs too much...=)

But you are still skirting the question, how do WE HELP support SAS?
