Subject: [Arsca] Strawberry Meth

This was forwarded to me by my college professor. It is from a principal
in Rogers. I have been alerted by one of our EMT's for our volunteer
fire department that they have received emails from emergency responder organizations to be on the lookout for a new form of Crystalized Meth that is targeted at children and to be aware of this new form if called to an emergency involving a child that may have symptoms of drug induction or overdose.

They are calling this new form of meth "Strawberry Quick" and it looks like the "Pop Rocks" candy that sizzle in your mouth. In it's current form, it is dark pink in color and has a strawberry scent to it.

Please advise your children and their friends and other students not to accept candy from strangers as this is obviously an attempt to seduce children into drug use. They also need to be cautious in accepting candy from even friends that may have received it from someone else, thinking it is just candy.

I don't want this email to scare anyone, but as a parent, coach, volunteer firefighter and friend, I thought it would be best to share this with you, so you can once again talk to your children about the effects of drugs and how easy it could be to take drugs without knowing it, until it is too late.

I worry, just as each of you do about kids and drugs and all the problems our kids today are faced with. So please talk with your children about this newest threat to get children addicted to drugs!

I checked it out on snopes.com and they have it as TRUE! No taking candy from anyone!!!!

isn't it wonderful what our society has come too. These Drug pushers are sooo desperate for more Cash that they are targeting the young kids these days. And WHERE do they think these kids are going to get the money to pay for this?????

why they'll steal it from you or run lemonade stands at outragous prices http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif They'll throw a label on it like Starbucks and call it premium.

Unfortunately this new stuff is less expensive than a school lunch. I am hearing $2.00 will get you plenty of lift. It is too scary and too many kids have way too much unsupervised time on their hands.

dang! Drug dealers know there market too dang well. To think that in elementary school I could have known where to go to get drugs http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif I didn't know till H.S. who the kids were that I could probably ask if I wanted. http://forum.startascrapbook.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

These people just need to start getting a life.. this is soo ridiculus targetting little kids. I never knew about any of this sort of thing while in school. Thankfully my kids aren't real big candy eaters, they'd much rather have fruit. Whats going to be next, targetting the newborns and our pets???? society just keeps going down and down....

All the more reason to be really involved in our children's lives. Don't take for granted that they will know better. Keep them informed and best of all pray over them daily. Lisa
