I just wondered for those of you who have the Wishblade, where did you purchase it at? I haven't really checked but I don't think J's or M's sells them. Did you purchase it from Xyron directly? Also, how is the learning curve on it?

Thanks much!!!
Dawn

I didn't pay sales tax or shipping so I got it for $399.00. I ordered it on Tuesday and it arrived today. Yahoo. I'm so happy. I'm so happy.

It's a good price, but I just can't justify it for myself at this time.

I saw a demo of one a few weeks ago at a crop. I didn't try it because I didn't like the fonts that they had to use there. It didn't look like you could specify a size though unless the woman who had it just didn't know how to do that. It's much smaller than I thought it would be. It was pretty cool.

Cass, are you talking about the Wishblade? You can size the fonts from 1/4" up to 8" and you can use any TTF on your computer. I have even made the first letter of my youngest DD's name 8" and then cut her name out on the side of the letter. There are lots of cool things you can do with the Wishblade.

Dawn, if you are thinking of getting one, I highly recommend joining up here at this Wishblade group and do the tutorials. The WB manual is NOT user friendly, it is currently being re-written, but the tutorials are great!

This WB group is run by Martha who is posted above as selling the WB. She is very nice and very helpful too. All the ladies over there are very helpful and they share files for the WB that you can download too.

Duh! Got sidetracked there. My DH bought my WB from HSN when they had it on the first time. It was $399.00 if I remember correctly. HSN offers the flex pay plan and I know a few of the ladies got one then too.

I bought my Wb from Martha from the yahoo group. She has a store in CA. Great lady and wonderful to work with. You'll love the machine once you get used to it!

I have owned my wishblade for over 2 weeks and I love it. Yes it was difficult to figure out at first but there are tons of free files all over the internet. These are some titles that I created. The Albuquerque one I did first so I didn't do a good welding but the other 2 I just did todayhttp://thumb8.webshots.net/t/63/463/7/35/44/2301735440073372428dRhOkv_th.jpg

I too own a wishblade and to be honest, I haven't done anything with it YET. I tried to cut some items out but I think I either had the wrong blade in or something. It ate my paper up.

There are a few yahoo groups that have tuturials. Can someone tell me which one is the better one? I really need to make sure i'm with the right group.

Teresa can you please PM or email with your information - would really appreciate it.

Also, the yahoo wishblade sites - I have the worst time trying to get through the yahoo sites -- does anyone else have this problem? I have a hard time figuring out how to read anything - it seems like you can just bring up one "comment" at a time whereas here you see everyone's reply and just page up/down.

Any suggestions on maneuvering through yahoo wishblade would really be appreciated -

thanks!!!

Are you clicking on the left side where it says 'messages'? It will bring up the whole list of messages but you have to click on each individual one to read the entire message. That's just the way yahoo groups are set up, at least every one that I'm in. If you ever post a question for someone to answer be sure to write down the message number so you can find it later to view replies to your question.

It may have been the wrong blade or put in the wrong way. It could also have been that you didn't have the correct paper weight selected when you cut.

Did you use the cutting mat when you cut or did you use paper or cardstock run through the Xyron first? If you use the cutting mat you need to turn the blade 90 degrees- there should a picture in the quick start guide. If you used Xyroned (is that a word? lol!) paper/cardstock, the blade should be facing you. Also in the quick start guide. Did you set the paper weight
in the Wishblade Controller where it says 'media type'? That will tell you which blade you need to use.

These are the groups that I belong to:
Wishblade Wishblade
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Wishblade/?yguid=277941409 Great tutorials and lots of support for questions. Also wonderful GSD files for free.

Easywishbladers
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/easywishbladers/
Another good source for tutorials but not as many GSD files and not added as often as above group.

UKScrappers
http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=202
Very talented designers here and awesome(!) GSD files, but this is for Craft Robo so the tutorials would probably not work for the Wishblade. I get a lot of really great inspiration here though and as said, '''awesome''' files, that are compatible with Wishblade.

I've been to the other Wishblade groups, but the above, IMHO, are the best ones.
