Is anyone interested in having a crop in February? If so, what weekend works best?
My first two are pretty busy with birthdays, superbowl, etc.

Okay, lets do it. I think everyone should come up with topics and challenges. We don't have to do the whole prize thing if everyone is okay with that.

I am fine with the no prizes. I just like chatting and working and seeing the challenges people come up with

Yea! I'm in!

I think that is the Saturday I am hosting the crop for my group, but I will still crop and chat on Friday and Sunday.

What weekend date are we talking about? This sunday is Feb. 1st - is that consider the first weekend or is the next weekend actually the first weekend.

Because Feb only has 28 days, you have Sun Feb 1, Say & Sun 7-8, Sat & Sun 14-15, and Sat & Sun 21-22 and Sat 28. So there are only 3 full Feb weekends. On the 14th I plan to be in the Poconos for my niece's baby shower and the 20th is our local crop night. I might be able to join in on the 21 & 22.

I would love to try and join in! It has been awhile since I was able to do the online crop here. I will keep watching for the exact date you mean... right now it looks like the 20-22? is that correct?

Have we decided on a date?

02-03-2009, 03:45 PM
Okay, lets say February 20-22.

02-03-2009, 03:46 PM

One question... what's an online crop?

02-04-2009, 09:41 AM
An on line crop is when we set a date(s) to be here and scrapbook at the same time. 1-There will be a "chat" room on-going discussion & chatter
2-A few crop challenges to participate in for those cards and LO's you might want to do and then post.
3-sometimes a few games thrown in to stir things up in the crop threads.
4-sometimes prizes and sometimes not
5-to have fun scrapbooking along with your SAS friends and seeing what they've accomplished during the crop.

???? ladies ???? anything I missed?

I've been watching this and I'm trying to keep it in mind so I don't forget.

Also I have a story about on line croping... My sister started scrappin about a year ago and has no one near her to scrap with. She in MI and I'm in AR. Well she has gotten a web cam so she can talk to grand kids (also in another state) and see them at the same time. It cost $30. unlimited call in US for a year. Well she is calling me all the time on this and bothering me to get a web cam so we can scrap together ! I'm going to do this but we haven't had electricity for a week and I keep telling her I have other things on my mind right now. Maybe I'll go to WM and look around I bet they have heat and my fingers are freezing and won't work right typing this!. I need dog food also so maybe I better go tell dh I need to make a delivery!

If any one wants more info on this I'll find out from her and let you know.

Clainda --- you will love it! I have a webcam built into my puter and my kids and I chat every Saturday morning (they're scatter around the country). It is so much fun -- I just have to remember that they CAN SEE ME, too. LOL We use Ichat on line.

P.S. GO get WARM!

oh, phooey!
I remembered that is the weekend I am supposed to do a skit at our church... which means practices, early arrivals, and performance at all 4 services throughout the weekend. Well, I will be checking in on Monday to see what you ladies accomplished. ;)

Thanks Sam... I just got all new computers .. here and at home (except the one that I now get in my scrapy area) I wonder why we didn't get cams in them?? I'll check out Ichat... is it a one time fee like that??

Off I go to get warm!

Are you gals ready!!!???!!! It all starts soon!!

02-19-2009, 11:14 AM
Okay, someone has to give me some info. on the webcam. Wouldn't it be fun to all have them when we do online crops?

02-19-2009, 12:06 PM
my computer has one built in but I don't know how to use it

02-19-2009, 02:20 PM
Ok this is what I know ... which isn't much! lol

My sister got one and wanted me to get one so we can scrap together! She's in MI and I'm in AR! And believe it ...it works! lol

WM had a camers for like $25.00 it said compatible with Skype which is what my sister was using. I got it and thought if my ds don't like it I'll take it back. Well dh installed and downloaded the program from on line and presto no problem. I looked my sister up on line and it added her to my list! I sit down and hit video call and it calls her. ! You can even do multiple calls at once. (She was calling her dd and I was on also...I'll have to learn how to do that!) You can call any one with Skype for free... if you call their house phone which she did before I got mine...she had to sign up for a one year fee for $30. and can call anywhere in US for unlimited. That is pretty cheap... she has kids in Marines - VA and dd in PA so it was a great deal for her.

Any way I positioned the camera to shoot my work table (not me! lol) and we scrapped one afternoon! We had a ball. We also talk more than we used to.

Does that answer any questions. I know Sam uses another program...I wonder if they are all compatible?? We could pick a company and all down load it. Most are free on line.
