A very good friend of mine gave this too me and she is one heck of a cook.

8 tablespoons ( 1 stick) butter
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup self rising flour
3/4 cup milk
1 28 oz can sliced peaches in syrup, undrained

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put butter in deep baking dish and place in oven to melt. Mix sugar and flour; add milk slowly to prevent lumping. Pour over milted butter. Do not stir. Spoon fruit on top, gently pouring in syrup. Still do not stir; batter will rise to top during baking. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes. Good with fresh whipped cream or vanilla ice cream

I would love to try this. You would think being from the south, I would know how to make cobbler. We ate it all the time growing up, but I have never personally tried it. I need to. Sooo gooooood! ;)

My mother always made it....even though I was a Calif girl...Mom was born in Oklahoma and I grew up w/ all the southern style cooking....cobbler was one of them.

My mouth is watering just thinking about the cobbler...will have to try to make it.
