this is from my mother I have been making this now for 45 yrs and there is never any left

Part 1
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 tesapoon cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
3 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons soda
combine together

Part 2
3 cups sugar
4 eggs (beaten)
1 cup cooking oil
2/3 cup water
2 cups pumpkin (1 can)
combine together

combine the 2 parts together with a mixer.
Bake in 2 loaf pans that has been greased and floured
Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees or until the knife inserted in middle comes out clean
remove from pan will hot can put powdered sugar on top
This bread freezes real nice if you do freeze do not add powdered sugar on top.

Yes does make your home smell good and it is a nice thing to have on that special day. You can eat one loaf that day and freeze the other.

I can not remember who it is but they make a spread that has pumpkin spice in it that taste great with it. Hopefully they will make it again this year. :)
