Do you mean besides storebought? LOL. That is usually what I have to do. I have made one home made before though...

It is a recipe from my grandmothers file. I have it on the computer. Let me hunt it down.

Apple Pie

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup ice water
8 Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and sliced
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter

In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in water a tablespoon at a time until mixture forms a ball. Divide dough in half and shape into balls. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight. Roll one ball out to fit a 9 inch pie plate. Place bottom crust in pie plate. Roll out top crust and set aside.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C.)

In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, sugar, 1 tablespoon flour and cinnamon. Mix well and pour into pie shell. Dot with remaining 2 tablespoons butter. Cover with top crust, seal edges, and cut away excess dough. Make several small slits in the top to allow steam to escape.

Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until golden brown.

I'm a from scratch pie girl myself :). I would really like to get some tried and true recipes though. My apple pie recipe is a good one, but I think there's a better one out there :D.

I'm not sure what an apple crisp is. Is an apple crisp like a cobbler?

This is a Betty Crocker that is very close to mine. I even used a pint jar of apples that I had canned in very light syrup.

Apple Crisp

4medium tart cooking apples, sliced (4 cups)
3/4cup packed brown sugar
1/2cup Gold Medal« all-purpose flour
1/2cup quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats
1/3cup butter or margarine, softened
3/4teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4teaspoon ground nutmeg

Cream or Ice cream, if desired

1.Heat oven to 375║F. Grease bottom and sides of 8-inch square pan with shortening. 2.Spread apples in pan. In medium bowl, stir remaining ingredients except cream until well mixed; sprinkle over apples. 3.Bake about 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender when pierced with a fork. Serve warm with cream.
